About Practice.
Eleven browser games built around real-world skills — each a short round with a personal-best tracker. Making Change drills counting back cash at the register. Quick Math is a 60-second arithmetic sprint. Percentages covers tips, discounts, and markups. Tape Measure teaches fractional and metric reads. Fractions handles add, compare, and simplify. Memory Sprint trains digit span and word recall. Change a Tire walks the twelve-step roadside procedure. Only Knights is knight-isolation strategy — a German paper-and-pencil classic ported to the browser. Link Pegs is a connection game inspired by Alex Randolph's 1962 Twixt — race to bridge your two edges with knight-pattern links.
No account, no ads, no tracking beyond anonymous page views. Scores live in your browser's local storage. Every game runs in plain HTML and JavaScript, loads instantly, and works offline after your first visit.
Common questions.
Is Practice really free?
Yes — no paid tier, no account, no ads. Some game pages carry Amazon affiliate links to relevant gear.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Just open a game and play. Personal bests save to your browser's local storage and never touch a server.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Every game is tested down to 320px and designed for one-thumb use. Works offline after the first visit.
How long does a round take?
30 to 90 seconds for the drills. Life Sims like Change a Tire take 2 to 5 minutes for the full procedure.
Are my results private?
Yes. Personal-best markers never leave your browser. The site uses anonymous page-view analytics only.
Is there a leaderboard?
Yes — per game, and only if you pick a handle. Only honest timed runs count: untimed practice never submits a score.
How do I delete my leaderboard score or handle?
Clear your browser storage to forget your local handle. Server-side leaderboard scores are tied to the handle you typed — email contact@saltnfork.com with the handle and we'll remove its entries.
What stops people from cheating the leaderboard?
The server validates handle format and throttles submissions by IP, and untimed runs never submit at all. Anti-replay nonces are on the roadmap. It's a fun board, not a prize competition.
